MWK 28G is offered for sale by auction.

Bids must be received by midnight (GMT) on Monday 10 June 2024, 56 years to the day after its estimated build date as ascertained by the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust.

The auction shall not end sooner than that date except in the event of force majeure such as loss or destruction of the vehicle.

The vehicle is in Sussex, UK, and available for inspection by appointment as is the comprehensive documentation that shall be included as part of the sale.

Bids are accepted on a sealed basis and entirely confidentially. The details of a bidder, or the amount of their bid, shall under no circumstances be shared with other bidders or any other party except as when the law requires such disclosure.

An undisclosed reserve price has been applied by the seller.

Bids must be made in UK pound sterling.

Submission of a bid constitutes the agreement of the bidder to the seller maintaining information about them, maintained securely and in accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

In the event of a bid or bids being received in excess of the seller’s reserve price the vehicle shall be sold to the highest bid received from a bona fide bidder.

Full payment shall be received within 2 working days i.e. by close of play of Wednesday, 12 June, or the vehicle shall be offered for sale to the next highest bidder in the event there are other bids in excess of the reserve price. Delayed collection of the vehicle is acceptable thereafter provided there is mutual agreement of the seller to the buyer’s terms, according to circumstances.

In the event of the highest bid being received from a bidder who the seller has reasonable reason to believe is not proceedable, or who is not reasonably contactable, the seller reserves the right to offer the vehicle to a bidder who has provided evidence of being able to proceed to sale within the 2 working day period that has been stipulated and notwithstanding that their offer may be less than that of the highest bidder.

Bidders are advised therefore to register their interest in the vehicle, and evidence the availability of funds sufficient for their bid should it be successful, in advance of the closing date for entries.

The seller welcomes expressions of interest, questions, or requests for inspection and these should be submitted to auction.enquiries@mwk28g.co.uk.

Bids should be submitted to auction.bids@mwk28g.co.uk. Bidders should include their full name, address, telephone number and email address with their bid and should ensure they are contactable (by one or more of these means) within the 2 working day period following closure of the auction.

HISTORY

The Story of an Extraordinary XJ

“It seems to be no more than a very early XJ6 – and only a 2·8-litre model at that – yet there’s a case for it being a more important Jaguar than any Le Mans winner.”
